Kurhaus / Casino
The Casino , a monumental Wilhelminian edifice dates back to
1907, its look impresses as ever: it was reopened in 1987 after
four and a half years of restoration work. The foyer presents
itself in ancient style- with marble statues and gods on the
mosaic medallions. The large banqueting hall was also restore to
its former splendour. |

Wiesbaden's Resort
section
Wiesbaden's resort section, also the focal point of social
events, such as conferences, balls and concerts, is essential
characterized by edifices which were built in the last century:
both the "Kaskadenbrunnen", the "Kurhaus" today with a casino as
well as the spring and theatre colonnades |

Hessen State Theatre
The opera, ballet and performances of the Hessen State Theatre
have found notice and approbation far beyond the state borders.
Here one can still experience a festive evening of theatre in
representative surroundings, something which in many places has
already been reduced to an everyday event. |

Hessen Parliament
The Hessian Parliament now has its home in the rooms of the
former Town Palace dating from the 19th century |

Old City Hall and
Market Fountain
Wiesbaden's oldest historical monument is the Old Town Hall. The
ground floor with the steps in front was built in late
Renaissance style in 1609. Today the Registry Office is located
here.
The Market Fountain , watched over by a golden lion since 18th
century, has developed into a popular meeting place. |

Market -Church and
New City Hall
The square is dominated by the marvellous, five tower Market-
Church. The neo- Gothic basilica was constructed in brickwork by
Carl Boos and consecrated in 1862. The Friedrichswerder-Church
designed by Schinkel in the eastern section of Berlin served as
a model.
The new Town Hall was built in 1887 according to plans drawn up
by Georg von Hauberisser, the architect who designed the Munich
Town Hall. It is modelled after a German Renaissance palace. |

Roman Gateway
The remains of the Roman town fortifications recall the times of
Emperor Valentin (364-375). Presumably they were never completed. |

Kochbrunnen (Hot Fountain)
The ancient Romans already knew that Wiesbaden's hot springs
were a health aid- whether one bathes in its healing water or
uses it as a health drink. Wiesbaden's most important spring,"
Boiling spring". Hot water having a temperature of 67C bubbles
up from a depth of 2000 m. |

Greek chapel
The Greek chapel was built for the Nassovian Duchess Elisabeth (
who died), born a Russian grand duchess, is one of "the" most
popular excursion destinations on Neroberg. It was built
1847-1855. |

Neroberg-Temple
The round Neroberg temple was build to 1851 by "Philip Hofmann" |

Nerobergbahn
The 1888 installed "Nerobergbahn" are a wire rope course
operated by Water ballast and are considered as technical
cultural monument. The railroad line is 440 m long, with an
upward gradient of 25% and a difference in height of 80 m. |
